So... what to tell you about me?

Well I'm called Henry and I have been making all sorts of models for over four decades.

I do like steam engines. All kinds of steam engines - except railway locomotives. I used to build O gauge railways for a living long, long ago before the internet existed. The rivet counters and nose tappers managed to suck the joy out of that.

But there's lots of other kinds of steam engine. And the things that are driven by them.

I really like toy steam engines. I have a few Mamod, Wilesco and Microcosm engines as well as things I have made myself.

The story behind my avatar - that's the picture that appears under my name on the forum. It's an old shrimp boat located a few km from my home. The boat is abandoned and has been rotting away for many years. The name of the vessel, still visible on the wheelhouse, is "Good Hope". The name and condition of the boat appealed to my sense of irony...
