Hello all

Some time ago in the model engineer magazine there was an article on how to make a small rivet squeezer.

I wrote the article details down but i am damned if i can find them.

On searching, i found one write up in volume 158 but i am sure there was a later version.

Anyone know?

Thanks

Hi Brian, Model Engineer 15th May 1987. If you need a copy of the article let me know and I will send one to you.

Brian, apologies. Just dug out the article and it's the one you already have i.e. Vol 158. After I made mine and some use, I did modify it to beef it up.

Alan.

Hi Brian,

there is a reference in the ME Index for 1988, Volume 160, Issue 3824, Page 526 under the title "Minnie Spoke Riveter" Hope it's helpful.

Rod.

Brian, just checked Vol 160 issue 3824. The article published in Vol 160 is by the same author - A. Mellor, but with more detail of the small riveter displayed on page 576 of Vol 158.

That Minnie spoke rivetter in the picture is very similar to the one we have at the museum, ours was bought from somewhere, but quite easy to make. Ours has a choice of throat depths and about 12 anvils, including a couple that I made. I also modified an old block of steel to hold the tool in a vise.
