glad to join! been browsing for a few years and finally started looking at the classifieds for some more robust equipment.

i have a unimat 3 (fitted with a 200w treadmill motor) and constantly seem to push it past its limits so some more machinery and knowledge is essential!

i work in film in animatronics so always doing weird bits, look forward to contributing and learning.

havent done much tv stuff unfortunately. but i was a junior on episode 9 of star wars and headed up design on a few things since then (most notably colour out of space with nick cage, doing a creature suit and an animatronic face. show a bit here, can see its mostly printed but this was pre having any machine tools https://www.instagram.com/p/BwpN4C1lVIZ/)

i mostly do horror films it seems! low budgets and madness

Hello and welcome Thomas. Well we certainly get a wide variety of interests on here but I wouldn't have thought there are many people into animatronics,... but you never know, now there will be lots of them turn up!

Welcome to the forum Thomas,

I always, always wanted a job putting Airfix kits together in the wrong order to make spacecraft for films and TV

The eyes are great! 3D printing is all part of the fun.

one of the guys next to me was doing just that! detailling a droid and popped out one day and came back with 2 model battleships and 3 planes, took a few pieces from each then sorted the lot into the 100s of drawers that lined his desk.
