Has anyone built the Simple Tool Grinder shoiwn in the February, 2014 edition of MEW ?

It looks like a handy tool to have if you don't have a proper tool and cutter grinder. Some parts have good detail drawings but others have an outline drawing but are missing critical dimensions. The text does say that it can be modified to use available materials but without suggested dimensions or better assembly instructions it is hard to piece together.

I have done a search on MEW for posts about this project but could not find any.

Thanks George,

I have a copy of the article and started to model it in CAD before attempting to build one but found that it had many missing dimensions. The smaller parts are excellent and fully detailed with drawings and photos but the main structure (base, tilting table, etc) have incomplete details with only an outline drawing. No dimensions to position of holes, etc.. The size of some parts are hand drawn on photos or referenced in the text or not at all.

I have worked as a design draftsman for 40 years and can piece the parts together. But someone with less experience would have trouble, which is why I have asked if anyone has made the grinding holder.

Paul.

Somewhere, there was also an article on converting a TipLap into a cutter grinder.

Needless to say, I can't find my copy!

Perhaps Neil could authorise a picture of the item in question as I'm getting curious. I'm not sure if I was subscribing in 2014 - if so it's under that pile, or that pile or......
