605 forum posts | Hi all, my wife bought me a ticket to the Statfold railway Enthusiasts weekend, originally canceled because of you know what.Sadly we decided we did not feel ready to go to the August one because of you know what. My wife phoned them to discuss possibility of rescheduling for next June, very helpful lady said no problem and within 1/2 hour new tickets were emailed. My wife is full of praise for the helpful and friendly welcome she has had on the several times she phoned them. Never been there before, has anyone else? Bill D. |

798 forum posts 27 photos | I have been there three times now to the annual Great Miniature Weekend for traction engines. You won't be disappointed it's a fantastic set up, give yourself a good couple of hours in the roundhouse and take your camera if interested in narrow gauge! If you get an opportunity and you are interested in the behind the scenes stuff try to get on the workshop tour, they have some pretty impressive machining facilities there. Paul. |

![]() 500 forum posts 31 photos | I've been. One of the Club members told me to go, and said that if I wasn't happy, he'd personally refund me the money. I took my good lady and we had an excellent day. I think there were eighteen steam locomotives running, plus the electric tram, and I lost count of the number of other locomotives on view awaiting restoration, sawed in half (sorry, Gertude!) or just sitting looking pretty. If you have the slightest interest in narrow-gauge steam and Diesel locomotives, Statfold is the place to go for a surfeit of them. Enjoy it, when you go! |

...sawed in half (sorry, Gertude!) ... To be fair, Graham Lee and his team may have left Gertrude as she returned from Canada, but they have effectively replaced her twice over with Jack Lane and Statfold. I wonder if somebody could persuade the NRM to build a couple of Merchant Navy class locos to make up for sectioning Ellerman Lines? Seriously, with a vast collection of steam, electric and ic locos (and the other exhibits including an Eirie steam shovel) Statfold Barn is a great (and importantly for me dog and wheelchair friendly) day out.
