A clever design, could have trouble as HSS requires sharpening, perhaps a DCGT 07 for aluminium could be incorporated into the toolholder. Then tool height would not be a factor.

Very neat. Your own design or are there drawings somewhere?

There was a thread on a box tool or roller box on this forum, see here. Stew had a thread of a similar tool on MEM.

Thanks Hopper but not my design by any means just my take on it. A version by Stew of Potty Engineering gave me the idea. Someone else had incorporated a mic head into their version and as I had one laying around I did the same.

I like the mike head development. Seen them for sale cheap online and been trying to think of a use for one. It would make a great MEW project write up if you were so inclined.

When I made my reversible roller box, the intent was to use a ME 40 thread for adjustment. But I was given a mechanical digital micrometer head, so used that, instead, despite the increase in size. Had to be more accurate than anything I could make!
