1228 forum posts 172 photos | Until recently, SWMBO has run a weekly 'exercise to music' (MEDAU) class in the village hall. During the lockdown she has offered postage cost only CDs to her 'flock' to allow continuation at home. I was selected from a long list of volunteers (not) to 'engineer' the product! Pretty straightforward to compile the speech and music mix and easy to adjust the timing intervals between them. What I don't understand is how to incorporate track identification numbering (as given in commercial CDs) so as to allow the listener to quickly select specific tracks/points of interest. Can anyone assist, please? rgds Bill |

It sounds like you have just created one long track with periods of silence? Apologies if I've misunderstood. If you let us know what software you are using for creating the CDs, it would be useful. 1228 forum posts 172 photos | Thank you Rob - I'm using Wave Pad Sound Editor - a 'freebee' which has a reasonable range of 'bells and whistles'. The end product is a compilation, starting with a mic input intro and 'ripped' music tracks interspersed with spoken exercise instructions. The separate elements are then combined into one mp3 file which is burned onto disc. I have Audacity available as an alternative editor and hope to shortly receive a Tascam dp004 to 'play' with. The track idents/numbering would be 'nice to have' function on the finished discs. rgds Bill |

![]() 2668 forum posts 352 photos | In software like Nero burning & the like. You can create a menu for each track. I fear what you are using is just one long strings sound editor. Putting breaks in will not give you the result you need. Not used that software so not sure how you would do it. I use Pinnacle studio for my video editing, but again although it is a superb but unstable piece of software, I don't think I could put breaks in . Because when the edit of putting all tracks on the line is finished, it turns the whole thing into one long track. I have the Tascam DR05, nice sound quality. Steve. 1160 forum posts 73 photos | As others have said, you need to split your one long track into separate files - the Audacity manual gives instructions for this here. Regards, Rob
Edit - or even a handy video showing how to do it Edited By Grindstone Cowboy on 05/05/2020 18:01:19 |
