![]() 2549 forum posts 235 photos | The Axminster SX4 is similar to the Grizzly G0720R so searching for that may give the information you are after, they probably sell more machines in the USA than Axminster do in the UK. Here is someone selling kits for converting it and there is a link to a PDF instruction manual on the page, Here is a YouTube video of a conversion. I have a WM16 Has any enterprising chap got around to supplying a kit that you just bolt on ( with you doing all the grindy bits, as well as all the electrics that you can just plug in without taking a Masters degree in Physics. I donr mind getting to grips with the programming side, but all that soldering!!!!!! Or has anyone made up a shopping list of all the bits ( i can farm out the sparky side of things!! |

![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | They seem to be ready to go mechanical bolt on kits with no other mods needed. Then you get the electronics kit etc. Edited By JasonB on 18/12/2020 12:24:56 |

![]() 2549 forum posts 235 photos | This video shows the electrical/electronic requirements for a basic conversion of a lathe. As can be seen it is not a lot of wiring or parts. The requirements for a mill just have a third axis if you want XY and Z axis powered. You can buy these parts and experiment long before you get to the point of actually modifying a machine so you have some confidence with the process. Further items can be added later such as spindle indexing, home and limit switches, auto tool height setting. |
