Hi all, recently joined the forum and it seems like a friendy community here.

Have got a Stringer EW lathe and have read a lot of the posts with interest, I may be picking your brains further about this little cracker!

All the best

Rob

Rob,

P'nawn da a croeso Which bit of the principality are you from?

The EW lathes are good sound machines so you'll have a lot of fun with it. If you feel like modifying it at all you'll find a series on updating it written by Martin Cleeve and published in ME somewhere in the 1960's (from memory). If of interest I'll look it up for you.

also Rob K!

Thanks Rob,

I'm a Southerner, what about yourself?

I found the Martin Cleeve articles a little while ago, very informative stuff.

I'ts been a good few years since I last used a lathe (very basic stuff), so having fun getting back into it.

Cheers

Rob

Martin Cleeve's work is good; I built a few of his devices for an older Myford years ago.

I'm in mid Wales, Llanidloes area, and secretary of th Cambrian Model Engineers - we're always looking for new members if you're interested.

Thanks for your kind offer Rob but I have to confess I'm not really a model engineer, just interested in engineering, machines and making things.

That's why I bought the EW, well engineered and useful in such a small package.

Hello Brian, many thanks for the warm welcome.

Welcome Rob!

If you feel like a day out, visit Hereford S M E and The Water Works Museum, next door.

Both are friendly. bunches.

It is even remotely possible that you would meet me, on one of my visits!
