Had a couple of emails to say netflix won't accept payments through Google Pay anymore and to update my payment method, also email from Google Pay and my netflix account says only 2 days left to update payment, am I right to be suspicious?

Yes ! Lots of these scams around try to report it to Netflix as a phishing scam, most companies have an email phishing@ ???

Hi Mick

According to Netflix's help centre "If you are currently billed by Google Play, you must add a new method of payment on netflix.com/youraccount to continue your membership" so there is a good chance the emails are genuine. Even so, to be safe don't follow any links in the emails but log into your Netflix account and use the drop-down at the top right. I may well be teaching granny to suck eggs here, but better safe than sorry

It is all too easy to spoof an email "from" address and to create a false link like this www.netflix.com/anaccount. (Link goes to Wikipedia article). I get particularly annoyed at emails from my bank regarding internet security that contain links for further information!!!

May be genuine is the best one can rely on. I expect the dross will be sending out ‘look-alike’ emails, now they know goggle is sending out real ones, in the hope of catching someone who is less than sharp, when it comes to pressing links on unverified e-mails.

If you hover the mouse over a link so the hand appears the true address pops up the bottom left of your screen
