Hi

I am a Mechanical Engineer based in Denmark. My interest in the practical aspects of engineering has its roots in an education as a toolmaker 20 yeas ago. The need for a kind of workshop began to become obvious when I left this trade and got myself enrolled at university. During what became 10 years of studies within more theoretical aspects of mechanical engineering, I had the opportunity to transform my fathers unused 10m² darkroom (such thing has lost its meaning in printing industry) into a small machine workshop. I equip this small room with machines I was lucky to find on my path through life. As an old toolmaker I simply felt a bit amputated without the ability to access a lathe or mill, so when something promising came along, I grabbed it and somehow managed to get it squeezed inside my little remote workshop.

I had (and still have) the illusion of a little workshop with all my stuff at the house where I am now living. But life doesn't always go as you dream. To make a long story short the remote workshop is still equipped and I have where I live I have got a corner with a small lathe and a 3D printer.

At the moment I mostly do different small repair jobs and some few small fun projects that all have one thing in common, they progress very slowly.

Welcome!

Lots of good company on here! You are among friends, and will be able to give help, as well as ask for it, if you ever need it.

Howard

Hej Alf

Velkommen. I used to live in Sweden for a few years and visited Denmark often. Copenhagen is one of my favorite cities. Visited Aarhus a couple of times too.

Welcome to the forum Alf - I have fond memories of Aarhus from the late 1960's when I went there a few times when I was at sea.

Chris
