7227 forum posts 21 photos	Back in the 40s / early 50s I am sure that ME printed a series of articles on making a powered hacksaw, with details of how to fit it to a shaper, as well as how to fit to be driven by a lathe. Have an idea that it catered for 6 inch blades! Howard

1186 forum posts 11 photos	Ian Bradley's 'The Shaping Machine' contains drawings for a small and large hacksawing tool (pages 41 & 42). Rather smaller that that shown above. The NEME-S website (http://www.neme-s.org/) has an online shaper reference section.

2147 forum posts 222 photos	My shaper saw is very similar in design to Marks - but obviously smaller (uses Junior hacksaw blades) as it was designed to fit my Adept No2 hand shaper. It is rather slow but fairly accurate (whereas my free-hand sawing is faster but much less accurate). It only wanders if I am tempted to down-feed too fast, as the thin blades deflect quite easily.
