Can anyone steer me in the right direction where i can find details and drawings for Martin Cleeve's Swing Clear Retracting Toolholder. There are plenty of pictures of this but I cannot find where it was published. I have the Model Engineer magazine issues where he describes his original non-retracting version. Regards All,

Every so often when I switch of my shaper, via the No-volt push button starter, the earth leakage trips. Today in addition to the trip in the workshop the one in the house goes off as well. Any suggestions?

I seem to recall an article refering to the use of a cheap (Aldi I think) diamond disc, intended for use on an angle grinder, being used on a double ended grinder for tool sharpening. Does anyone know in which issue this apopeared?

Can anyone help?

This is a favourite micrometer of mine due to the direct reading so I was upset when it fell out of my overall coat pocket when I picked up the coat to put it on. The micrometer fell onto a concrete floor with the result that the thimble sprung off the knurled operating knob. After a lot of attempts I have managed to relocate the thimble back in the correct location. The direct reading figures and graduations are correctly located within the transparent window in the thimble. Unfortunately when the thimble with the attached spindle is screwed back into the body of the micrometer and the thimble located at either the “

Hello All, Back in Issue No. 147, Mike Crossfield wrote an article describing a low cost rev-counter. This used a disk with 60 slots to generate 60 pulses per revolution of the spindle. Is there an electronic device, or a circuit using such a device, that would amplify/multiply the pulses generated by one similar opto switch once per revolution by 60 times. i.e one pulse per revolution increased to 60. Hello All, Back in issue No. 147 of MEW Mike Crossfield wrote an article describing a low cost rev-counter. He used a discs with 60 slots (or the 60 tooth Myford Super 7 bull wheel) to generate 60 pulses per revolution which directly read off as a frequency. Is there a device or a circuit incorporating such a device to allow one pick up ber revolution to be amplified exactly 60 times? Regards, Wychwar |
