10 forum posts | looking to buy a new 10" chuck for my student. it comes without a backplate. has anyone turned down an old faceplate and used it as a backplate for a chuck? i have an old damaged L0 taper faceplate that would be ideal for a conversion, what are peoples thoughts on this? |

203 forum posts | I used a few chucks mounted on faceplates when I had my student. I didn't bother turning the faceplates down as they were far enough out of the way as not to cause problems. I simply drilled and tapped the back of the chucks to match the faceplate slots. |
