Picked up a plastic multi-compartment box looking for a screw. Handle snapped and the sharp end dug into the side of my thumb. Blood everywhere, but not as bad as it looked. Can't really complain though. The box in question originally held electronic spares and was part of the toolkit I picked up in 1987, when I started my first IT service job!

It has been waiting all these years to get you.

Years ago, I couldn't be bothered to pick up a pair of scissors and ripped a couple of layers of bubble wrap in half. I damaged the tendons in the rear of my left elbow so badly that it took a year to heal.

I take it you never got a cut from a sheet of drawing paper ?

I kid you not, you could shave with it !.

I hate those injuries where you absolutely positively knew it was coming.

Your powers of prediction were spot on and the accident you visualized happened exactly as you knew it would.

Just taking that bit more time to avoid the risky shortcut or get the right tool.

I bet this will slip and I'll bang my knuckles kind of thing.

I've got so many bumps and scars from this daft kind of incident.

Plus the invisible injuries that you have no idea how they came to hurt, like a little elf smashed your fingers with a hammer while you weren't looking.

Every one reminds me how dumb I can be and how I'm not 20 anymore.

Regards Mick

My own personal favourite in my aeromodelling years was when someone asked me to assist them in starting a 0.8cc diesel engine that was being troublesome, picked some starting settings, turned it over by hand & gave it a quick flick whereupon it spat back & the wooden prop rapped the back of my right index finger, the pain was excruciating & travelled all the way up to my shoulder, I can still feel it in my mind to this day, given that I was well versed in hand started diesel & glo motors up to 35 or 40 size albeit with a finger stall, no nancy boy electric starters in those days matey & if there had been I wouldn't have been able to afford one on a 16 year old apprentices wage, lesson learned.
