Hmmm? Looks a bit overkill, not to mention uncomfortable to me, didn't I used to see snappers tape tissue paper over their flash guns to achieve the same effect?

It reminded me of dear old Victor Blackman writing in Amateur Photographer magazine who used his 'Blackman grubby handkerchief' as a two stop reducer in flash intensity.

Ha ha I think it would do just as well Neil.

Some of the old patent applications were really mind boggling Michael. Some of the creative and inventive people were amazing.

Put the white shirt over the flashead, and use that as a diffuser, just like Victor Blackman's handkerchief, or a "shoot through" umbrella.

Once, I saw a wedding photographer reusing a 1 Litre ice cream container , over the flashgun, as a diffuser!
