Built Harold Hall's simple tool grinding jig a while back and now decided to make the end mill sharpening fixture, plans in his book. 14mm dia hole shown in the front support and an 8mm dia hole in the rear. Looking to start assembling the jig, made all the parts to book drawings and it looks from the outline book drawing and a picture I've just downloaded from the web that these 2 holes have been transposed front to back bearing support. Might be missing something but........... can anyone advise ?

Cheers

Which book? I have two books with different designs and neither have those dimensions.

I've just looked at the design in book 38, I don't believe there is anything wrong with the design. What could be confusing is the fact that the 14mm hole in the front bearing, item 64, is sleeved down to 8mm diameter by the tooth rest support clamp ring, item 75. This ring prevents the clamp screw marking the tooth rest support spindle which is only 8mm diameter.

Hope this helps.

Neil

Thank you Neil. Can see that now you've pointed it out, severe brain fade on my part methinks LoL.

Cheers
