6 forum posts | The article by Andy Clark was the most useful I have read in a long while. Using his advice I also progressed from useless results to results perfect for my needs. The main change I made was to forget green sand and use oil sand instead. The only problem was that he did not specify what he meant by oil sand. Fortunately my first trials gave perfect results based on children's play sand with 1% linseed oil mixed in. Then 3% dextrin was mixed with 3% water and this mixed with the sand. (All proportions by weight) After making the moulds I baked them at 200'C for about 2 hours. The process could maybe be optimised but I am happy as is. |
