Bridgport Nut

Nut for Slotter

Hi all i have a bridgeport slotting head the main shaft bolt is there that holds it to the machine but no nut i am gouing to make one as a serch of google has brought nothing my question is the thread is 0.872 and 14 tpi does anyone know if it is unc or BSF etc?

Probably 7/8" UNF but i'm sure an owner will confirm

Don't have time to check mine with a tap at the moment, but if it's 14tpi it'll be 7/8" UNF as 7/8" BSF is 11tpi.

i think i have a 7\8 unf tap i will do a test piece thank you for all the quick replys

Just had a closer look at mine. It's not a nut as such. More of a threaded bush that fits in the yoke and is stopped from rotating by a dowel in the smaller hole shown.
