There will be many members with diverse interests but a passenger carrying line is a vital source of revenue. Insurance alone can account for £20 a year out of the subs, depending on the how big the club is. |

![]() 500 forum posts 31 photos | Leeds SMEE meet regularly on Wednesday evenings at Eggborough Power Station. Not a million miles from Donny. Summer running days are second Sundays in the month (March - October) and a few summer Wednesdays. Next formal meeting is 7th February (Talk on the new Patriot loco), but we usually have a natter session every other Wednesday. We also do Monday daytime working parties. Come along and see us! ![]() 119 forum posts 3 photos | Probably mislead everyone by mentioning Thorne. I am not into railways, more small engineering projects. A steam mill engine on the go at the moment. Want to build a boiler and get it tested too. Think it would be handy to share knowledge with others. As an aside, my late father was a loco driver. He had two replies for people who loved steam engines: They wouldn't be so keen if they had to shovel call all the way from Doncaster to Kings Cross and back. They wouldn't like them if they had to light a fire in one at two O' clock on a winter's morning.
