129 forum posts 13 photos | Hello Chaps, I need some advice, I have a Myford Super 7 but the tail stock does eject any tooling that i put in it . I stripped it down, cleaned and oiled but still it will not eject any tooling, nothing seemed out of place but the only way I can get a piece of tooling out is to "gently" tap it out ! Any ideas as to what is wrong would be greatly appreciated. Edited By Alan Gordon 4 on 29/09/2017 16:52:09 |

129 forum posts 13 photos | Hi Robert For instance if I put a drill chuck in when I retreat it I have to give a small tap on the rear end of the chuck. It's only a very gentle tap and it realises ok. It's the same if I insert a revolving centre, but they will not eject automatically

Robert Are you quite sure you have a Super 7 tailstock, not an ML7 tailstock? The ML7 tailstock is not self-ejecting, and is open at the rear to allow for a drift to remove tooling. On a Super7 tailstock there is no access for "tapping out" MT2 tooling. Mike |

129 forum posts 13 photos | Hi Robert, Sincere apology, The tooling I was trying does NOT have tangs as you suggested, To be fair the the drill chuck which does have a tang now ejects well ( it didnt before) so I guess the clean out I gave it worked ! However The rest of my tolling does not have these tangs so it look like I will have to invest in new MT2 arbours (with tangs) |
