Is it allowed to post a link to an advert on the Gumtree site which is nothing to do with me?

I've just spotted an ML7 for sale which may be of interest to someone here.

The down side is that another member may have been watching an item and then a whole load of others see it and the price rockets.

Personally I don't like seeing a bunch of links to items for sale and it is also hard for us to know if the poster is not just trying to get more people interested in an item they are selling or genuine .

Agreed, unless there is something really unusual (such as a rare old machine) it's best not to. An awful lot of old Myfords come up on Gumtree and eBay.

"a whole load of others see it and the price rockets".

This is what auction sites are all about.

That's what the seller and the auction site owners want, not necessarily what buyers want.

Also why a seller may plug the item on a forum to boost sales.

Okay, thanks,  I fully understand which is why I asked the question.

Shame I can't get it down my garden otherwise I might have to start sweet talking her indoors.
