Evening all.

Are 'hobby' sized airbush connections standardised (e.g. propane cylinder regulators)?

I bought a cheap ebay compressor airbrush set (was going to see how far I could go with it), and now wish to upgrade the airbrush - to the linked Harder & Steenbeck - and am hoping that my existing mositure trap will screw into this airbrush.

https://www.everythingairbrush.com/airbrushes/harder-steenbeck-airbrushes/airbrushes-harder-steenbeck-airbrushes-harder-steenbeck-airbrushes-ultra/harder-steenbeck-ultra-2-in-1-airbrush.html

Any advice gratefully received.

Most traps and compressors will be 1/4BSP (unless it is a very small compressor) so you will be able to get an adapter from 1/4BSP to H&S and then use an H&S hose

There is a small chance your e-bay brush may share the same thread as teh H&S but without knowing what it is hard to say.

Just gone through a similar scenario but i needed a new air line .

Seems most use the same thread but iwata and a few others use a different one 1/8 bsp i think .

You can get adapters off ebay for most guns although i have a realmcheap gun that uses fittings that are around 5 mm , it is cheap junk but good for priming so i will adapt it to my other fittings .

Any thoughts on paasche guns ?

I have a cheap diaphragm compressor and want to add a small air tank to it , possibly from a small fire extinguisher or gas bottle .

i only use it for my model engines or static models like 1:72 scale models but it seems to work well .

Whereabouts are you?

I have an empty small tank, used for filling Helium balloons, (stamped for 130 psi) that you can have.

I am in East Anglia. (going to Hereford this Sunday to The WaterWorks Museum via A14, M6, M5 if you wanted to meet en route) PM me if any good.

Howard
