![]() 910 forum posts 197 photos | Have been looking at Bristol aircraft crankshafts and saw the Maneton clamping on the tail shaft etc. Thought it might be of use for my latest projects built up crank it would help for the regular dismantling that might be required. One end of big end would be a permanent press fit and the other end maybe the clamp. The history of Bristol radials mentioned the single bolt type did cause problems and a two bolt type was then used. Been trying to find drawings showing dimensions etc. but only found Fedden patent but no dimensions http://www.newcomen.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Chapter-6-Hassell.pdf Are there any detailed model plans showing this clamp or full size dimensioned drawings.

![]() 1605 forum posts 83 photos | I feel it is only fair to make accessible to all of what I sent to Windy. Therefore I will be putting the information in my photo albums under Mineton Clamp over the next few days. The photographs are of an exhibition piece showing the rotation training of a Bristol Centaurus engine. The drawings are assembling drawings for a Bristol Hercules crankshaft and the article is from "Aircraft Production" magazine of 1944. JA |
