I live in the Bristol area and have a GX-6060 CNC, which has suddenly said it does not want to work. X, Y and Z all perform perfectly, but the Router will not operate. The Mach 3 screen shows the anticipated spindle speed. I have a great friend, who has help-ed me in the past (let me just say I am almost 80, and know nothing about electricity ) Alas my Guru is currently in hospital so is unable to give me assistance. In conversation he does asy that he is confident that ther is nothing wrong with the Spindle motor, The Inverter or Mach3. Therfore it must be the communication between them. I think the initial problem was caused by a loose USB connection, which then stopped X, Y nad Z working, but kept the Router spinning. I closed everthing down, but as I said all works except the Router willl not.

HELP ! HELP! I am VERY happy to pay anyone who can come here and sort me out

Malcolm,

I'm no cnc expert but I'll try and help......

Let's start with the basics......

So, you say the cnc controller can control the X,Y and Z axes but the Router motor is inactive?

All cables/connections are plugged in.....

Can you check that the vfd and router do work? This may mean setting a different parameter in the vfd to tell it to operate from the keypad.... This will identify if there's a comms issue between the inverter and the cnc hardware....( make sure you note the settings in the vfd before changing them.....)

John, Good morning, and thank you for your response.

Yes to Mac3 operating on X, Y and Z correctl, which presumably means that Mack 3 is communicating via the USB connection with the CNC.

Yes I think all cables a re connected and plugged in.

Alas I do not understand what the VFD is, and how it operates the Router. I gather that the Router is run of 3 phase (which again I do not understand (Alas old age is a big burden !!)

I think in theory that it opossible using Code M03 S12000 to make the spindle run, but it is not.

My email address is [email protected] if you care to email me your phone number I will telephone youy to discuss.

I am so grateful for any help I can get.

Regards Malcolm
