104 forum posts 19 photos | Morning all, Does anyone have experience of removing the right hand leadscrew bracket on the Myford lathe ? In addition to the two cap head screws there are two dowels tapped to aid extraction . Not sure which thread as they are damaged. With the screws removed the bracket is still firmly held in place by the dowels. I'm thinking a simple extractor to draw the dowels and bracket off as a unit. Any advice appreciated thank you. Adrian. |

They are, like all good dowels, a very close fit in their holes and are therefore difficult to remove. Try gently prising the bracket off using the "two screwdrivers" technique. Go gently a little at a time and you should have no trouble. Eric |

Nuy on one end of stub, thread through weight, screw other end into dowel, then slide weight smartly against nut a few times to extract dowel. |
