![]() 1071 forum posts | Years ago I had a large lathe with the half nuts worn out. I made a fixture to hold the half nuts in the correct orientation on the lathe faceplate. I welded up the half nuts with cast iron rod, then annealed them for machinability, remounted them on the fixture and single-pointed the threads. If you single point them you don't have to find a tap. |
