![]() 19226 forum posts 749 photos 86 articles | In the 'letters box' on top of the 'shoe cupboard' I've just found a package containing a reel of 0.63mm 316L stainless wire I wasn't expecting until the new year Curiously there was also a spool of 0.16mm nichrome which it turned out is a sample of 10 metres of 'vaping wire'. I'm sure this will be very handy for making some telescope dew heaters but although the data sheet included gives me over a dozen useful properties of the wire, the figure for ohms/meter has been left out! OK, it's easy enough for me to measure it, but ironic to give me density, elongation at rupture and micrographic structure and leave out the most useful property of something used as a heating element! The max continuous service temperature is 1200C so perhaps I should use it to make a tiny kiln Neil |

![]() 6956 forum posts 229 photos | Probably a generic data sheet for all diameters though they could have listed them all. Perhaps also it is in the catalogue/website so they thought this is just the supplementary info and you didn't need the basic stuff. Count yourself lucky you have any datasheet at all and aren't expected to download and print it at no cost to the supplier. |

It's a bespoke sheet they have produced to go with the samples, I think the missing figure is just a typo. Neil |

If the seller is who I suspect it is more data is very probably on their web site. John - John You must possess one of the crystal ball devices that are occasionally mentioned on this forum I have read Neil's original post and the subsequent replies but cannot see anything that provides enough clues for you to 'probably' identify the actual seller of a product that is presumably available from numerous suppliers. In the last year I have purchased Nichrome wire from four different places none of them connected with vaping (as far as I know) Ian P |
