thinking of a  steamroad roller kit.

or maybe a steam wagon

who is a good supplier of kits?

Do you mean kits to bolt together or kits of castings etc?

either possibly a ready to go kit as starter that i can do with my youngest 2.

and moving on to set of castings .

really looking at options and choices at min.

Not knowing what type of roller your looking for, Mamod do a kit for around £130, if you fancy paying for something better google D.R.Mercer not cheap but good model. Alternatively what I have done in the past with the youngsters is to buy old and tatty mamod roller on ebay then get the youngster to strip them clean them up if required I've repainted and then fet them to rebuild the engine.

If you want something that will pull them around then you want Steam Traction World but a lot more than a Momod type "toy"

This is a lot more realistic than the Mamod but it's rather more expensive (no bias - I have a Mamod Roller).
