I understand that T.S. made two different types of 8" rotary tables, an "S" type, and a "Cam" type. Is there anyone here that knows and can explain the difference, and how to identify each type. Thanks.

I'm expecting delivery of my new to me, 8" Tom Senior rotary table soon, and will post some photos of it here. It would be interesting to hear from other Tom Senior owner's if they note differences in their model of rotary table.

I like opening boxes, so the first several several photos are leading up to my big smile of the day. Not sure about posting multiple pictures, bit will give it a try. pict0001 (medium).jpg

Hello Mike, I've got a nice unmarked 8" Tom Senior rotary table , just like yours, I use it on an M1 mill.

Here is a page from the Tom Senior leaflet describing the various rotary tables.

Thankyou Gents - I now know that I also own an "S" type.

It's a great design because it's so low .... but mine looks a lot rougher than yours, Mile. Still does the business though

Cheers - Will

Thank you Richard !

I can see that I have the "S" or screw type engage / disengagement system also. Guess there's no real difference, other than just a matter of convenience for operation in some instances ?

As Will says, it is a great design, just 2.25" high, and the quality is outstanding compared to todays imports; don't think I will be having any future issues with this tool.

Cheers, Mike

What's nice is, that proportions seem to have been well thought out so all unnecessary stock was removed.
