not sure where to put this so trying here.
just seen an instructable on making rings from meteorite ( **LINK** .
looks like he is using normal tipped tool for turning it.
my daughter saw it and wants to make herself a ring out of some slices of stone she has not sure what it is.
how to do it?
same way as in video?

Meteorite's come in 2 varietys iron based and rocky

the iron based has nickle in it and exhibits weidensteins ( sp) lines to prove its from a meteorite

the example in the link is a iron one so easy to turn

If you mean your daughter saw the video and wanted to make a ring out of earthly stone then granite or slate will work and tipped tools cut it reasonably easy

Got some friends who are rock hounds, the method they use for cutting rocks is a diamond saw.

When I was a lad, the firm I worked for made switchgear they used to cut slate with an ordinary joiners hand saw with plenty of water

Many years ago, I was on a campsite somewhere in the Peak District listening to a Russian radio station on long wave with a mate long after the pub had closed. the topic was geology and the segment ended with the presenter, very unconvincingly, saying "Hey, Rockhound, don't throw that rock at me!". It became a catchphrase for quite a while.

These guys head up into the riverbeds coming from the Southern Alps, and find Agates and other interesting bits and pieces. Each year they go over to Australia, last year, or was it this year they went looking for Opals, don't know if they found any.
