Can anyone tell me the make of the square reversing switches found on Boxford AUD lathes and if there are any alternatives?

Santon Switchgear ? If they didn't make it, they'll have something similar still in production.

I can't see any reason why a Dewhurst would do the trick too.

You will usually find Santon switchgear inside the square box.

Can you suggest a switch to suit a Boxford? I had a look at the range from Santon and it is huge!

If you look on More latest post you will see some one has a similar problem to what you have and there is the answer. I think Boxford fitted a Santon, not sure of the part number.john

I looked at a spare switch that I have. The number on it is 1PA46/3128 3 71 but searching the Santon site and Google produced no results. I guess 3 phase, 1971.

The Boxford spares list states a Santon SBC 137 KA 1 for single and 3 for 3 phase but these also don't turn up any search results. (If they were still available, at £153!)

Sorry, not very helpful!
