I was looking for some aluminium sheet on ebay and was surprised at how expensive it was to buy some small pieces, the postage usually being the killer. I continued looking and came across this item ( ebay No. 151674911127 ) .I bought the 10kg lot of offcuts for £35.60 including postage and thought I would flag it up for anyone looking to stock up on aluminium sheet. I have no connection with the supplier but think it is a much cheaper way to buy a decent quantity of sheet. I suppose it is a bit of a lottery as to what you get but the photo shows what I got (1m ruler in foreground for scale ). All the sheet is satin anodised, most of it being 1.5mm thick but there is a large piece of 2mm and another large piece of 3mm.

Doug,

I did an ebay search on that number you gave and got a zero result, so it must have been a one-off (or else you got the number wrong frown .

Going by the price, I'm guessing This Lot

Alternatively, try searching for 10Kg Aluminium Offcuts

There are frequent listings on Ebay for this type of sale. Also offcuts for large section round and square bar. They start off at around a tenner then quickly rise in the last few seconds of the sale. I stopped trying to get these deals because the 'snipers' can use software to seal the deal - it can be very frustrating. I've also pretty much stopped the hobby because of the prices of stock and offcuts.

Both the auctions in the links from peak4 are Buy It Now - so no snipers just click and it's yours.

A great many of the listings on eBay are BIN.

Just looked at the ebay listing I mentioned and it has been updated by the vendor, but the link mentioned by peak4 is the one I bought from. I have had a chance to have a good inspection of the sheets I got and apart from the odd slight scratch they are in very nice condition. The anodised surface is a real bonus as it makes the surface scuff resistant and very nice to look at and most pieces have a plastic peel off coating on one side for protection.

I now have more sheet than I will ever need, but it saves buying it in drips and drabs, as needed, at inflated cost. I was also amazed at the delivery speed since I ordered it on Thursday morning and it arrived the next day, also in the morning. I know I am beginning to sound like a salesman but a good deal with excellent service does not happen to me all that often!
