Hi Gents

Does anybody in the Surrey/Hampshire area own a pallet jack/pump truck?

I have some heavy kit in the garage/workshop that I need to shift and will probably need it for a couple of days. Happy to collect pay a deposit and collect deposit upon return of the item leaving you £30 for your trouble.

TIA

Grant

Can't help, but will just ask what is wrong with the crow bar and pipe roller technique? It may be slower, but cheap, effective and no time constraints on the job.

Thanks Gents

Besides a bit of shifting in the workshop, my new Tormach PCNC770 arrives next week so will need to shift it in and out of the garage a couple of times. More on this in another thread.

Thanks for the link Jon, HSS was my other option but thought I might try here first. It may be more economical to buy one at £180 vs HSS £110 for the week.....

There are usually lots on ebay for under £100 if you dont mind collecting and arent bothered about what they look like cosmetically. There was one near me that i wish i bought almost brand new and no bidders at £50.

This will be of no help what so ever to Grant but when I was Quality Manager for Linde fork lift trucks we discovered we had hundreds of these in a warehouse which was destined for other things....so we hired a bloke with an oxy torch to put a hole though them and throw them in a skips. Now that's innovation for you!

Another option is hiring through somewhere like Homebase ,they use hire station but are usually about half the price of going into a hire station shop.

On looking at homebase and toolstation for a basic 2 tonne truck , Homebase is £69 a week inclusive of VAT whilst through the Hirestation website its £85 + VAT

I hired an hydraulic block splitter for a week 3 years ago and saved around 50 % on the usual price and that was delivered from the nearest Hirestation branch 40 miles away.

National tool hire may be as cheap.

Mark, thanks for the heads up, looks like Homebase is the clear winner coming in at £63 for the week! Cheers!!!!
