I am building a 5" gauge GWR loco and would like some cab side number plates, does anyone know of a supplier. I think some time ago someone was offering a basic plate with seperate etched numbers to make your own plates.

Any advice would be appreciated

Mike

As soon as I saw in "Latest Forum Posts", a thread title, "GWR no. plates", I thought whats the betting Bob Youldon replies? Only 3rd reply and in 2 days!

Known Bob for 40+ years. My! how time flies.

Mike,

Dont know if you know, GWR used to cast brass letters and copper - rivetted them on, to construct nameplates. I think the brass cabside plates were solid brass with integral nos. cast in.
