This is contrast to an abrasive saw, which abrades the metal and generates a great deal of heat absorbed by the material being cut and saw blade." Circular saws of this type have been used to cut aluminium profiles, either upcutting, where the blade rises from the cabinet, or downcutting, sometimes with several saw heads operated simultaneously for many years.
