We're enjoying it ... Just watching the Hallmark being laser-etched.

Some lovely work there. Particularly liked the texture on the beakers, I did something similar to a draw front hand carving the texture with a small gouge - a lot of work for a downstairs loo vanity unit!

That dep red enamel was also gorgeous the way the subtle pattern radiated outwards

-most enjoyable programme. Very nice to see a Myford Super 7 of the same vintage as my own being used.

Talking of Damascus Knives has anyone been watching "forged in fire" which goes out on a Thursday evening on History channel. 4 Bladesmiths compete to make a knife in the studio , after two have been eliminated the remaining pair get a week to make a weapon in their own workshop, winner gets $10K

Next one is Steinway pianos making repairing &restoring, should be good, only seen one forged in fire Jason they had to make a knife and the survivors made a replica Scottish Claymore without much success I thought but entertaining nevertheless

I am also very grateful to Michael G for his link as missed the programme when originally broadcast.

I would have to say probably the most interesting 30 minutes of BBC in many many years. Myford lathe, hand engraving gold etc. Wonderful!

Is there a 'niche' market us model engineers can jump on?

Cheers,

Julian
