Hi I noticed Amadael are now selling my lathe. There version is fitted with a thread dial gauge. I bought one for my lathe from them I can not see any way to mount it. Any ideas. I guess I should ring them.

The lathe is the AMA210VG I'm guessing I would need to drill and tap to mount it. I don't really want to do that but I can not see any other way to attach it.

Well, My Chester 9x20 is done that way, as is my SPG2129 and the little Sieg C3.....

Dave

Below is a picture of my Chester DB7 lathe showing the thread dial indicator which mounts on the right hand side of the saddle/apron with a long cap head screw and spacer.

To engage the dial it is swung in so that the gear engages the lead screw.

Hope this helps

Martin

Thanks for the pics my lathe does not seem to have a tapped hole it looks like I will have to drill and tap a suitable hole to attach it to the lathe. I think I'll put the fitting on hold for now.
