My no-name vice I use in the Carport has a feature I love, and that every vice should have.

That is a Cross-handle that is held by friction so that it doesn't try to attack hand or fingers when in use.

Yesterday and this morning I've been busy modifying my Record No.1&3 and Columbian to have this feature.

Columbian below.

Vice Cross-handle.

Vice Cross-handle.

Very easy to do as well.

What have you done to yours?

Mine did that modification on its own. I got plastic swarf down the hole and it has smeared itself on the sides of the hole. Sometimes I have to knock the handle through with a lump of wood.

Regards,

Richard
