3453 forum posts 23 photos | It depends on the scale of course but most model makers make do with simple wooden blocks with a couple of holes in it. For some reason the OP doesn't want to do this. All the models I've seen made the conventional way look fine to me and there are plenty of tutorials on the subject on the relevant websites. One of the best is the one I posted earlier. http://modelshipworld.com There are also books that deal specifically with rigging of period ships.
