Amazon are tying up with Morrisons to do a similar thing.
Our local Morrisons has a big Amazon automated parcel locker in the foyer. N. |

We had a Hermes delivery that 'was delivered to a safe place', so far we haven't found the place but we did get the replacement! Or Parcel Post where we got the note through the door, the driver must have had running shoes on as no sight of him when I got to the door!
Peter Running shoes I can understand, it's the drivers who creep up in carpet slippers and knock on the door with a sponge who really annoy me. Joking aside, I have used Hermes for collections, deliveries and drop-offs at the local corner shop without any problems. What is really annoying is the number of eBay sellers and couriers who stick a surcharge on for delivery to the Isle of Wight when Royal Mail and Hermes don't charge any extra. |

![]() 1688 forum posts 16 photos | Hermes have struck again!! Waiting for a delivery of two parcels from John Lewis received two emails from Hermes stating that the items had been delivered, unfortunately not to our address. This was a repeat of previous episodes where correctly addressed items had been delivered to an address in a nearby street, it seems Hermes operatives are unable to correctly read addresses and postcodes, they are a Rubbish organisation unsurprisingly they have no consumer service department that you can contact either by phone or email, I wonder why? I had to retrieve my parcels when I realised where they had ended up, emailed John Lewis and told them Hermes is damaging their image and if they continue to use them for deliveries then I will not order online from them. I suppose you have to expect the type of service from Hermes when you realise they use part timers using their own cars for deliveries, not very professional set up, obviously a cheapskate outfit. |

340 forum posts 30 photos | My daughter keeps getting messed about by Hermes (she orders stuff online non stop!) . Hermes continually fail to deliver her stuff. Their recent proof of 'our attempted delivery' was a photo of a Piri Piri shop (that is further down the road) and her package. Seems like they employ idiots who don't give a monkeys. ![]() 1688 forum posts 16 photos | Update on yesterday's Hermes delivery saga. John Lewis apologised for the parcels being mis-delivered and offered twenty pound gift card for the inconvenience, rude not to accept..Further development this evening, Hermes driver called round with profuse apologies for his mistake in delivering to the wrong address and admitted that he was responsible for a previous wrong delivery of one our parcels. In mitigation English is not his first language he speaks the second most common language of the UK, - Polish. Hopefully he will now recognise where we've live, remains to be seen if Hermes can sort it in the future.

250 forum posts 1 photos | Try living in the far North of Scotland, I can get delivers from Cornwall ( 4 wheels) for £35 two day delivery! but Inverness 75 miles away want an arm and a leg for most things. Must say that Royal Mail do sometimes astound me, a motorcycle tyre from the midlands ordered at three o'clock on a Friday afternoon saw it swinging on the postman,s shoulder coming up the path at midday the next day. America two days, Hong Kong four days, London twenty seven days. Best one was a free CD from Microsoft in America, delivered to Stornoway, taken back to Glasgow, both times past my front door and then back to my local post office where I was asked for £15 because the post office had opened it to inspect the contents, needless to say I declined the 'free' CD. |

2011 forum posts | I got a message from DHL on Thursday saying my parcel was due this morning (Thursday). Still not here, tracking shows it was picked up at 7-30 thursday morning, so it's just going round the country in the back of a van. Can not get hold of these people of course. |

![]() 1688 forum posts 16 photos | Royal Mail seem to be variable depending on which region you live in, Parcelforce and parcel deliveries here in the south-east are generally very good but if I send anything first class to my daughter in Wigan it takes 5 days, makes a mockery of next day delivery if sent first class. |
