Ian, I would be interested if you want to part with your blade bit. I assume it is the adjustment tool mentioned in one of the earlier links. MG's link gives a nice photo of the working end. I have added pictures of a javelin in mount and round transformer to my album but can't get picture links to album to work any more. Bazyle PM me your address and I will post it. I do not see any mention of an adjusting tool but whatever it is, its yours now. Ian P

![]() 6956 forum posts 229 photos | thanks, Ian. I'll make a donation to 'Workaid' which our club supports. The 3 pins are to allow one voltage and return for the coil and one different voltage for the spark. A fourth pin could be for a flying lead earth return to attach to the job. |

![]() 6956 forum posts 229 photos | Received Ian's special tool today (many thanks) and matched it to various parts of the etcher. It seems the scalloped bit is to set the distance from the magnet to the back of the javelin holder. Well that's the only thing that seemed to match. the thickness corresponds to the magnet armature gap. I now realise I have two types of holder - one has a spring to hold the javelin and will be self levelling and the other has a hole and locking screw so might be either for a diamond if that would hold up under the action or for something like a gramophone needle. |
