The same man now owns both in his collection in the USA.
. Phil, Interestingly: His second picture, [endof the thimble] clearly shows a Patent Date, but ... I just looked on Espacenet, and was surprised to find that's the date of Starrett's patent for the Thimble.

Hang the expense ... include 256ths [which roughly approximate 254ths] ... What a pity that the importance of Binary wasn't recognised when they standardized those funny decimal/metric units.
