Chris,

The centre of Esher is only a stone's throw along the A307 Portsmouth Road and I am sure that you will be able to find somewhere there. If you can't see one I'm sure that they will be able to tell you in a Newsagents. At that time of the morning parking in the town shouldn't be a problem.

I also plan to be at MEX at opening time but I won't be getting there quite as early as you!

Regards, Brian

Visit the SMEE website for full details of what is to be seen on each of the SMEE demonstration stands, the personnel you can expect to meet and information on the topics to be presented in the lectures, free to all visitors to the exhibition. There is also a full lecture timetable to enable you to plan your day and get the most out of your time at the exhibition.

It is not immediately obvious where it is on their site as they rever to it as MEX2012

If you are around on Saturday afternoon try and get to Mike Chrisp's talk just for the pleasure of experiencing what a good lecturer he is.

I am going on Sunday, but having looked at the show web site am glad I am using the free ticket option and have not paid out money to attend (other than a 100 mile round trip of course). The list of traders is poor as far as I can see. I may be in a position to buy a small miling machine next year and had wanted to research the options, but no one will be there for em to do this, which is a stark contrast with the show we are not allowed to mention which has double the number of traders and a selection of machine suppliers. The floor plan which might allow me to plan my day a little is still not on the show site and presumably will now not appear. Mentions of "do not miss the SMEE lectures, which are free" fail to say that they do not happen on Sunday, so are also of no value whatsoever to those who can only make Sunday. ONe last thing (hopefully this will help with next year's show and not end up as a complete moan) I also found it difficult to find the opening times, surely this is very basic information and should have been in the magazine adverts.

I am sure I will enjoy it a lot and the offspring will certainly make the most of the day, but the above does not inspire confidence and makes me question if I would be better served by going to the opposition.
