![]() 618 forum posts 122 photos | I've just bought a 125mm dia ER32 collet chuck to fit on a Warco D1-3 adaptor from Chronos and the price was cheaper on ebay, by a couple of £'s, than their shop. Surprisingly it was far cheaper than their smaller 80 and 100mm diameter offerings, I'm guessing they have just not updayed their listings on both formats. I always shop around and usually buy costlier non specific tooling from Chronos, RGD, ARC etc as there is some comeback and have always been happy with their product quality. There is also the fact that if there is an issue you can speak with someone, not always possible with some ebay box sellers. I think you just have to put that one down to experience unfortunately Mark but I feel your pain! |

If it was a physical shop then the Law states that the retailer must accept the displayed price when the goods are presented at the till even if it was a mistake. It would be worth finding out where you stand with online sales. regards Martin 'Fraid that doesn't seem the case. Here Not sure about this one. I thinikit depends on the circumstances. If for instance the price of a can of soup on the shelf at a supermarket says £1.50 and then the automated till system charges you £1.75 this would be misleading or unfair trading. Note that it is a legal requirement for a retaller to display the price on the item or next to it e.g on shelf. Not doing so is unfair trading. However if you have not paid or the item they don't have to sell it to you at the shelf price. If you paid and then realised they either have to refund the difference and you keep the item, or the total paid and they get the item back. I either case you could still report them for unfair trading. Supermarkets have been fined for this when they do it a lot. Some chains have started using electronic tags on the shelves so the price is updated by the same system as the tills. |

1033 forum posts 2 photos | Sorry for being a bit slow coming to this but I think you dodged a bullet not buying the vertical slide from Chronos. I purchased a fixed vertical slide from them about 18 months ago, it came with a free gift of a small machine vice, the vice is beautiful, the vertical slide was c**p. The Acme thread was cut a maximum of ten thou deep, the dial wobbled up and down due to centre hole being out of true and impossible to use throughout its entire travel due to leadscrew being out of line by around five degrees, I had tried looking for a second hand Genuine Myford one but they were either silly money or looked like they had been used as a boat anchor. I ended up putting it right, I made a M10 x 1.5 leadscrew and nut, a new dial, re aligned the leadscrew and now it is fine, shan’t be buying anything from Chronos again though. |
