A truely fine example of what can be achieved by time, patience and skills learnt. Congratulations on building a superb model. Noel.

Once again, thank you gentlemen for the generous compliments. Although fully lined LNER green is a lot more work, I figured that once it is done, you enjoy the benefits for years after. The Fox transfers for the tender lining alone took two weeks. I had the foresight to buy twice as many lines and corners (and they are not cheap) as I needed, reasoning that I would stuff a lot up until I got the hang of it. Just as well as I used almost all my spares.
A mate is finishing a much more impressive loco, also his first, but in all black, so it doesn’t have the visual impact.

The Springbok picture looks to me like a full size version crossing a viaduct, just needs some steam and or smoke added with Photoshop or similar program !!!!!

Congratulations on such beautiful work with a superb finish, hope it runs as well as it looks.

Simon,

Very, very well done, fabulous looking model. Worthy of a prize at an ME exhibition, pity The Model Engineer Exhibition no longer exists as I think that it would have achieved a major prize. Congratulations

Well done! I've taken well over 15 years and still my second loco is not complete! I hope it looks half as good as yours.

What a beautiful job you have made!

You have given me inspiration to try and build my own engine!
