Netflix type content is most likely the future for TV addicts

Switch it on and dial in what you want when you want it

I remember watching three hours of star trek on sky many years ago, one hour of it was adverts.

We had it and some cable channels years ago. After about 9 months or so we seemed to be waiting for new films to appear. Same on other channels too. The cable connection broke and they wouldn't repair it unless we upgraded so I chucked it out. Fortunately we kept a BT phone and the old aerial still worked.

Some months ago my son wanted another ISP available so went for Virgin. Turns out that the "cable" wasn't broken at all so they must have been trying to force us to upgrade.

One person in the house is paying for amazon prime so we bought the amazon TV dongle. Watching near one movie a night it took a couple of months to go through all of the movies with limited time left that we actually wanted to watch. There are lots more. There are some TV series on it that we watch but I've no idea how long the movies will last. There is also some other software installed on the dongle that initially would find streams for all sorts of things but of late it generally hangs up. The amazon service costs about £80 a year so if next day is selected on orders that's maybe the same as say 12 orders a year or so with free TV except for the cost of the dongle. We did manage to find a live F1 stream but the only one that didn't hang at all was low quality.

One thing I have noticed is that the aerial mast needs to be more rigid than the used to be for receiving freeview. We had it early on and the installer used the usual pole. If there are very high winds it does sometimes generate a bit of interference. Fortunately this has hardly ever happened and never for more than a second or so with long periods in between.

TV,

No wonder no one gets anything done.

Bitch about subs for a mag going up and pay up to £90 per month to watch a box ?????

Far more interesting things in life. Take Wednesday for instance. Decided to knock off early from work so jumped in the truck at 3:30, Fiat as well [ Oh dear oh dear ] drove up to see the Delectable Debs, only 120 miles, got there at 6.00 as traffic was a bit heavy on the M6.

Had a coffee, hug and cuddle but not in that order and left again at 7:30.

Because traffic had calmed down a bit managed to do the return 120 miles in just a tad under two hours.

Now that was a late afternoon and evening well spent. Who wants to be watching a box ?

They do say a girl will pull you further than dynamite will blow youwink

Sky has made a vast profit lately, so they only want paying users.
