Same old same old, more than three years now and the basic web site problem still not rectified. Same as post numbers, or lack thereof.

51 forum posts | Hi Folks, Thanks for all the information regarding the taper for this chuck. The nearest I can find to match the drill is JT6. As I said the chuck has RJ6 scribed on it this seems to be my best clue. After a bit of cleaning up I realise I was wrong with the make..The data plate on the side of the head say J Sanders, 1982, not Saunders as I first thought. The bench grinder that came from my fathers workshop is the same make. I have ordered a keyless chuck from Chronos this afternoon so I hope its correct. |

![]() 19226 forum posts 749 photos 86 articles | I'll correct my earlier comment about B tapers. B10 = small end of MT1 B12 = large end of MT1 B16 = small end of MT2 B18 = large end of MT2 B22 = small end of MT3 B24 = Large end of MT3 The number after the B is the diameter of the large end of the taper to the nearest mm, and 'about' 1mm larger than the large end of the socket (~2mm in the case of B22 and B24). 369 forum posts 41 photos | Re the question about inserts, have a look at **LINK** If you have an existing insert you can measure up you should be able to find something that will fit. eg a TCMT09 02 04 should be a triangular insert, 9 mm along the edge, 2.38 mm thick and with a 0.4mm tip radius. a CCMT06 02 04 is an 80 deg diamond shape, 6mm edge, 2.38 thick and 0.4 tip. (These just happen to be the two tips that I use, the link explains what all the letters and numbers represent).

51 forum posts | I had one of those bright ideas today. The chuck for the mini Lathe has B16 stamped on it and it wont go on the stub in the drill. I took the drill chuck to work today to give it a good clean up and as I thought it says RJ6-13 on it. As I said I will try the JT6 from Chronos. I am starting to think I might upgrade my workshop . I had an ML2/4 before I had a break from model engineering. My father had an ML7 with a long cross slide and a few other simple modifications that kept him going for years. I could justify the cost of a decent one as an early retirement present maybe. The Super 7 seems a bit pricy for occasional use. |

Best guess now, is that the R stands for Rexon, and the J6 for Jacobs [Taper] 6. ... Hopefully you are on to a winner. MichaelG. |

Edited By Steve Pavey on 26/01/2015 18:20:47 If you insert a link the default is to display **link** if the text matches the URL. You can edit the text to anything you want, I often remove the HTTP bit and add ... in the middle of long links. Neil |
