Its just that it is the usual convension to have the narrow column on the Left .... will take some getting use to. Dave |

As V8 says the web page takes up the whole width of the screen on an iPad but when viewed on the PC there is a lot of wasted white space down the sides. J I am seeing the same ... the higher the screen resolution the bigger the white gap .... I suspect that the site has been developed to be xxxx pixels wide ... bad web design in my view ... it should look at the screen resolution and scale accordingly. The other thing I don't like is the narrow column down the right hand side ... it is the usual convension is to have the narrow column down the left hand side. (as per Windows Explorer, Arc Euro Site, Ebay, Tee Publishing etc) This site just looks and feels wrong. Dave Edited By Steambuff on 02/10/2013 05:49:44 |

I tend to agree with Martin ... it is growing on me .... but ... Can we use the full screen and not leave a 2 inch white blank space on the left and right? Can the latest sales and wanted's be moved up the screen (Just under the 'Latest Posts' maybe ... its a long scroll down

If you click on 'Archive' (White letters on Black Bar) ... it takes you the the "Online Archive" purchase page at £29,99 .... Has this subscription bee re-introduced? (Perhaps they are going to bundle it with the paper copy again ....I can hope) Dave

I didn't renew last month either ... but my reason was the back-door price increase. I read the paper copy when at home, but the online archive when away from home. Since I use my companies laptop when away, I am not allowed to load the Poket-Reader App nor download copies .... So I disn't want the Reader.... but am forced to buy it if I want a paper copy + online archive.... hence the price increase. I will decide if I want to pay the increase for ME next year when my renewal is due. (Was £29.99 for online archive ... but will be £48 to renew) Dave |
Thread: Moderation of this forum |

Diane ... I was refering the the staff/employee's editing the threads they start. (I trust David, Jason, John, Wolfie and yourself .... not sure about the employee's though) Dave

Diane, Why do employee's appear as Moderators? I feel that they should appear as either 'Staff/Employee' or as normal members. What powers do these people have as to editing/deleting posts? (If they have edit/delete permissions, then they can edit/delete other peoples post's that take a different view to them) Dave

Thread: New subscriptions, am I thick or what? |

If you want to access the "Online Archive" you have to take out either a Digital Only subscription or a "Print + Digital" subscription. The new Print only subscription no longer includes access to the online-archive. So current Print Subscribers will have to pay more if they want access to the online-archive. (A sneeky way of putting the prices up) Dave

John - Correct, as per the comment in 1 of my earlier emails. Michael - You are correct (Unless MyTimeMedia change things) Dave

From other posts and from my emails with MyTimeMedia, The Digital Subscription gives you the following. 1/ Access to the "On Line Archive" for the duration of your subscription only. 2/ Download 13/26 Issues of MEW / ME for the duration of your Subscription - These are on your device and yours to keep.
The Print Subscription gives you the following. 1/ 13/26 'Paper' issues of MEW / ME.
The Print + Digital Subscription gives you the following 1/ 13/26 'Paper' issues of MEW / ME. 2/ Access to the "On Line Archive" for the duration of your subscription only. 3/ Download 13/26 Issues of MEW / ME for the duration of your Subscription - These are on your device and yours to keep. Dave

Russell, The files appear to be encrypted .... but you might be able to backup the directory structure and then restore it. A single issue appears to be made up of many small files. If I get the time, I could try it .... but remember that you must use their off-line reader to read the files. This brings up the issue of operating system upgrades (or people using old systems) and the support of the reader. (Will they still support Win XP in 1/2/5 years time?, and how long will it take them to release a new version following a new Operating system release .. i.e Win 9) Dave P.S for me the best thing WastingMyTimeMedia should do, is a/ have a "Online Archive" only subscription and b/ add the online archive back into the paper sub (no cost increase).

Jo With the new Digital, you download it to your PC/Device and can keep after your subs expire. Dave |
02/08/2013 09:32:50 |
Click on the Green Subscribe Tab at the top of the Home Page ... Then click on the MEW (or ME) subscribe now link ... Your options are given there For MEW Print + Digital £51, Print Only £42, Digital Only £35.50 For ME Print + Digital £67, Print Only £55, Digital Only £47.95 Dave |

Maybe... but there has been a massive increase in price for the Digital subscription (£29 to £48 for M E) ..... Yes I admit that you can download and read on your machine (unless you have Linux), but you can still only print 1 page at a time .... and not everyone is happy with the new digital option, I was happy with the online archive. (with or without print copies) I think they will lose even more subscribers now. Dave |

Its a price increase if you still want what you have now !!!!! (Paper + Online Archive) They have removed the "Online Archive" from the Paper subscription, (They are giveing you less for the same money), so if you want the Paper copy plus the online archive you have to pay more!!! Dave |

Kate, I'm confused I already pay by annual direct debit ... If I upgraded now, you are saying that I would pay £67 upon renewal (Next June) ... but if I converted my direct debit to quartly upon renewal I would pay £15.50 per quarter (From next June)(This equates to £62 per annum) Have I understood correctly? How do I upgrade (and convert to quarterly DD)? Dave P.S My details still show my ME sub expiry as 28/6/2013 but I have renewed. |
