Thread: Helical pencil sharpener blade replacement |
14/03/2021 23:14:26 |
Jakar - well know auction site spares listed. Caran d' Ache helical cutter replacement on Amazon UK (should I have mentioned this) Google make of machine as above and add spare parts. I obviously don't know if they will fit but with the sentimental attachment worth a punt and may be capable of modification to fit. Robert Butler

Thread: What does this thing do? |
10/03/2021 11:22:49 |
Gentlemen to shatter a possible illusion, I remember well my woodworking lessons over 50 years ago now. Regrettably not much time for woodwork now. Dovetail squares (now there's a contradiction in terms) permit striking out using a proper marking knife with the unsharpend edge of the blade resting against the square thereby preventing wavy lines. Robert Butler |
09/03/2021 22:08:40 |
Or reverse the the direction of application of the knife which is only sharpened on one edge. Robert Butler |
09/03/2021 21:27:47 |
It must also be noted the joints were marked out with a "marking knife" - never pencil although the marked lines could be highlighted with pencil and the waste also marked with pencil. Robert Butler |
09/03/2021 20:02:50 |
If it is a dovetail jig it can only be used for marking out, who would risk fine dovetail saws or chisels using it as a guide for cutting the joint? Robert Butler |
Thread: Help needed, can't release cast iron wheel |
06/03/2021 17:19:15 |
Is that a screw slot immediately above the puller screw 12-00 o'clock? does the item on the end of the wheel then unscrew? both would serve to locate the cast iron wheel and when the wheel is removed may also reveal a key? Robert Butler |
Thread: Is this a daft idea please? |

Make sure you have enough headroom for the draw bar once installed particularly if the collects/chucks benefit from metric and imperial threads! Robert Butler
